This game was very interesting, when he invades on the 51st move, the game just gets crazy!
At the end of it, I was wandering if there was a way I could better have dealt with it and killed the stones

You played pretty well for 15k. I would say check (1) if you really have to defend and (2) if you have to defend, to play the most “active” defense move and (3) try to read ahead so you already defended and don’t have to ask these questions.
