Yes, there is an API for playing. You will want to use the real-time Socket.io API for this, however there are some authentication functions that will need to be executed against the REST service first. There’s documentation here and here to help you get started.
Note that you’ll need to create a specific account for the bot, and have the admins mark it as such.
