I put up a live game offer with “restrict rank” checked, and a limit of min 9k max 4k. I did this in order to get a game with at most a two stone handicap (my rank is 7k). When the game started however, there were 3 handicap stones on the board and my opponents rank showed 10k. After apologizing, I cancelled the game and after raising the issue in chat, I looked my opponent’s stats. They showed an overall rank of 8k, and a live game rank of 10k. Apparently, the system allowed this opponent to challenge based on the overall rank, but then applied handicap based on the live rank. This seems to me like a bug, because the system gave me a game that I had specifically tried to avoid using the available settings.
