It seems to be that this is recommended as part of a moyo, maybe theres an enclosure in bottom right? Otherwise supposedly it’s still invade-able which makes it less efficient apparently

It is just the most common move professionally in the 12x12 area. It is added to make it clearer that continuing in that corner isn’t important. Tenuki for big points. Black usually has the 4-4 at Q4
