European Go Journal: October 2021

The European Youth Go Championship concluded on the 17th of October.

The winner in the U16 category was Alexandr Muromcev 5d from Russia. Alexandr is a recent sensation of the European go scene. In the Russian Cup which took place in Vladivostok in June, he defeated Stanisław Frejlak 7d - one of the strongest European amateurs. Alexandr also played on the fourth board of the Russian team in the Pandanet Go European Team Championship final and will fight for the title of professional in the European Professional Qualification at the end of this month.

In the October edition of the European Go Journal, you will find a review of the decisive game from the last round in the U16 category played between Alexandr and Vsevolod Ovsiienko 4d from Ukraine.

This year the European Youth Go Championship (EYGC) took place online from the 15th until the 17th of October. It brought together more than 131 participants.
