I assumed that we are supposed to fight for our own colours
Wait, so this game is three teams of two rather than two teams of three?
“Players receive points for the area controlled by their Primary Colour”
“Players place stones with two colours, one of them being the players Primary Colour.”
But its not stated what the primary color is. Im like you, I kinda assumed black/white are the primary colors.
I’m sorry for the confusion.
This comes from the rules linked on the website, I assume. The implementation on this variant allows for a wide range of configurations (players are assigned a primary colour and optionally a secondary colour). The rules description takes this into account and as a result, it may come across as a bit vague.
Those can be seen as “Base Rules” we play with, but our setup is more specific. I wrote about it in the first post of the setup thread: https://forums.online-go.com/t/setup-fractional-go-5/56517
Yes and no. For the capture rule, both colours require having liberties. Ultimately it’s intended to be a competition between team black and team white.
Oh no… I should have sacrificed my blue to fight harder for my white instead ![]()
There’s always next game ![]()
(Though we don’t have to throw in the towel just yet.)
Maybe - There’s also the possibility of shared eyes between Blue(-Black) and Red(-Black), like on C3 / D3.
Reminder @PRHG
Looks like we can kill white on the left now if we’re careful. I think @benjito has to play A7 to ensure that Blue is removed in the second phase (suicide) and then how about I play E2 and @Tschej plays A1? Does that work?
EDIT: actually I think that isn’t great. Do you see why?
not sure, is it bc white gets an eye?
immediate term, should you capture C1 again? Also, wonder at what point we should capture bottom right. I think white or green will die in the top left pretty shortly, so I don’t want to get tied up in too many places.
I looked at it again and now I think it does work. This game is so confusing… ![]()
If you fill three red liberties like that, I wonder if we could fill the other three to capture red.
Right right, that’s the problem! So what do we do, team black?
scary stuff! I say we go for it anyway ![]()
Sure
I think we can win safely if we just play defense, but Im not against some risk.
Sounds good except I think I found a slightly better move for my stone so I might play that after double checking.
Reminder @Sadaharu
Does the white team still have any chance?
