I agree, on my phone too I have to remember to check by myself, if someone is greeting me or warning he’s going on holiday soon or… Whatever. It’s a big thing missing for mobile phone users, even if you think there isn’t much to talk in a game, it may hurt relationship between players, missing I would say most of the time important communication.
