I tried to fork this game http://online-go.com/game/933495 and challenge gohcanada (player in that game) but I got error that ranked games cannot be played with people further than 9 stones away. I am pretty sure forked games are supposed to be free and not ranked. This might be because OGS tries to use my “default” settings for the fork challenge. Even the game name is the same as my correspondence game names “ONLY ONE PER PERSON…” so it might also try to make it ranked somehow.
Also I cannot find any reference that my forked game was forked. http://online-go.com/game/933756
I’m not sure if the original game should have “This game was forked” similar to how reviews are marked.
I am pretty sure that at least the forked game should have a visible link to the original game just like reviews do.
