Inaccurate clocks (early timeout)

For fast-ish games (e.g., 10 to 20 s byo-yomi) I frequently lose on time while the clock is speaking “Nine, eight, seven…”. This discrepancy between the timeout and observed time is really unacceptable for an online server. Is this just me? (Playing with Chrome on OSX 10.9.5)

This has happened to me once. I posted about it on this forum months ago. It got some responses back then. Seems to be buried in the forum pile now. I couldn’t even find it with search and my bad memory.
I am using a bluetooth headset with various quirks. So I’m pretty sure this is why my audio sometimes desync from “real time”. What kind of audio system do you use?
