The automatic komi for all board sizes are the same value. It shouldn’t be like that as far as i know.
Is it buggy?
According to KataGo, ~6.5 komi is fair for odd board sizes from 9x9 to 19x19.

What @gennan said. to clarify, it’s only 6.5 for Territory Scoring; it’s 7.0 for Area Scoring. If you want to allow draws in Territory Scoring, you need to compromise fairness to 6.0 komi, and if you want to eliminate draws in Area Scoring, you likewise need to compromise fairness with 7.5 komi
Your knowledge may be based on OGS previously using a smaller komi for 9x9. But this was OGS being weird and not following standard practice, which has thankfully since been corrected.
