Some time cheaters are out there that use predatorial time settings and end up with really high ranks. I recommend simplifying the time systems and not having sudden death. In some games, I can’t figure out what time setting is being used, the site has too many time settings, and this confusion means it’s easy for time cheaters to ruin games. This makes people unhappy.

I agree that it is easy to accept a game request without fully realising or understanding what the time settings are. It’s nice that OGS allows complete customization of board sizes and time settings, but I support the idea that ridiculous time settings and sizes should be assigned to the rubbish bin.
A game isn’t official until both players have made a move. If this really concerns you, before your first move open up the game info. If you don’t like what you see you can cancel without penalty.
