now that the ranks for blitz, correspondence and live are separated, i see that we have an ‘over all’ rank as well. since i never play blitz, it will stay at 10k for the foreseeable future. will this keep my ‘over all’ rank from moving up as I (hopefully) advance in rank in correspondence and live?

And what about playing only correspondence games?
It doesn’t matter which modes you play or you don’t play, your overall rank treats every game and mode the same.
