The Coffee Lounge

Oh wow. Now I feel like I’ve been living under a rock for decades

:astonished:
Now THAT’S weird, IMNVHO, as it would probably rather hinder the player somewhat (shifting priorities, no?), or if it didn’t, it would (IMHO) point to some condition where Cannabis is medicine, like perhaps ADHD, PTBS, Depression, certain pain attacks.

What if they had pulled out a medical prescription?

he was taking weed there

but maybe it was simply because of bad conduct? Smoking in an area where it affects other people is … an attack (intended or not) with toxic fumes/gases, right?

BTW I quit five months ago — I had to, as my 51 years of smoking are killing me. They are STILL killing me but I’m glad to have rid myself of the killer, the nicotine addiction, nevertheless, and maybe having quit grants me a few more days of suffering  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: So PLEASE STOP SMOKING WHILE YOU CAN, FOR YOURSELF AND ALL THOSE WHOM YOU LOVE AND WHO LOVE YOU. Thanks, and forgive my shouting.

Yes I found it quite odd as well, but many ‘performance reducing’ drugs are illegal in the standard doping rules. Maybe it can be argued that the stress relief and lower muscle tension is performance enhancing in a precision sport like sharp shooting.

I’m a coffee drinker, but I usually only drink one cup for breakfast, and one for lunch / early afternoon. Otherwise I mostly drink water.

My local club has meetings both at a coffee shop and at a tea house. I almost attend the meetings at the tea house due to my schedule, which aligns perfectly with how I’d prefer it.

I got my board out last Saturday afternoon and replayed a match between Sakata Eio and Takagawa Kaku while drinking coffee and listening to Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. Life is very good at such moments. I don’t drink anything during my own games though. For the record, I begin the day with coffee and then it’s tea after that. I love the Java Jive.

I actually thought that’s the name of a coffee bean :joy:

Oh but you are not one of them? :joy:

I like espresso drinks, i just tend to go for drip/pourover because it’s more readily available and consistent :stuck_out_tongue:

Here I made a multiple-choice espresso poll:

  • Plain hot latte (steamed milk + espresso)
  • Flat White/Cappuccino/Cortado (steamed milk, varying degrees of frothiness and milk:espresso ratios)
  • Iced latte (milk, espresso, ice)
  • Mocha latte, hot(steamed milk + espresso + chocolate sauce)
  • Flavored/sweetened latte, hot (steamed milk + espresso + syrup)
  • Flavored/sweetened latte, iced (milk, ice, espresso, syrup)
  • Traditional macchiato (espresso+dash of steamed milk)
  • American-style macchiato (inverted vanilla latte with caramel drizzle)
  • Americano, hot or iced (espresso+water)
  • Espresso (just espresso, in the cute lil cup, often served w/ a cute lil glass of water)
  • Shaken espresso (espresso shaken with ice and sometimes sugar, frequently before adding a bit of milk)
  • Espresso frappe (milkshake-like blended espresso beverage)
  • Espresso tonic, optionally w/ bitters (like gin & tonic but w/ espresso instead of gin)
  • Espresso martini (what it sounds like)

Edit: i added the descriptions for clarity because different places use the same name for different things. but i am kind of regretting this now, seeing how long it wound up being lol

Im glad you added it, i feel like espresso drinks are a totally different beast (though I still picked the one closest to regular drip coffee :joy:)

Also I’m not sure if there’s a generic term for it, but the Cuban espresso is my other choice (very sweet)

Coincidentally, I stumbled over this article today:

Café Cubano is strong espresso with sugar

I became a fan after trying in Miami. Or rather, I probably learned the cortado/café con leche, but I’m not a huge fan of milk in my coffee.

This thread was making me crave espresso so I dragged my partner out to our local specialty coffee place, Peregrine Espresso

Espresso macchiato, and a hot cocoa

That serves in paper cups? Or did you order takeaway?

Normally they ask whether I’d like it for here or to go, but they didn’t this time. Seeing as how it’s pretty late in the day and the cafe area was rather full, I imagine that they didn’t want to deal with more dishes.

I see what you did there 😉
