Disqualified players are still playing the tournament. Anybody knows If the second round will be starting when all games end, or if it’ll start when qualified players end their games between each other. Because there is no need to wait for the games in which two or even one disqualified player is participating to start the next round.

Edit: on Monday April the 4th it’s still the same. No completed games.

How is that? 5 disqualified players should be because of timeouts, so there should be 5 completed games. But there are only 4. I don’t think that TD manually disqualified a player. So what happened?

Six days later…
- 150 games left, 189 players involved, 50 groups
- 5 games completed
- one disqualified, one resigned
- 5 players completed all their games
- one group finished all its games

During this tournament many players changed their usernames and/or countries.
I wanted to make some chart about it, but it’s too chaotic to be nicely fitted in some chart.
But today I noticed something that was worth a little enquiry.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine some players made some adjustments: Russian players are decreased while Ukrainian players are increased.
While Russian players were a little fluctuating, Ukrainians were steady.
Then something changed.
Digging deeper I found out that:
- “new” Ukrainian players came from Germany, US, undefined and World
- one new Russian player came from GoT Stark
- few Russians players moved to Germany, United federation of planets, Pirate, undefined and World
- one player changed from World to Ukraine but yesterday changed once more to United Nations
I’m not trying to feed trolls or flames.
I just wanted to point out that this tournament will see many things before it ends.

At first there were more games than players (10038 vs 2233) but then in june 2021 the number of games still going became lower than the number of players involved.
Now it seems that the number of players is decreasing quicker than games.
I wonder if they’ll swap again.
