I played in a 9x9 tournament (https://online-go.com/tournament/20274) with 5 other players. After losing one round I dropped out of the tournament because I had to go to class. Later I was surprised to see that I had won third in the tournament. It was double elimination, so I imagine this happened because those who were eliminated later had two losses whereas I had only one.

I just noticed I didn’t actually drop out and actually did get 3rd. nevermind, lol
