I am a $5 supporter. Should I be able to kick off a Full AI Review for a game I did not play in? If I observe a game can I do a Full AI Review of the game after it has completed? It would be great to do a AI review of a Dan level game after watching it.
It doesn’t appear that I can do so as I only see the standard 3 move review. I downloaded the SGF to my computer and after uploading it I can then do the Full AI review. Contrastly, if I added the SGF to my library wihtout downloading and then uploading the Full AI review was not available. I was discussing with a mod and he said he was able to do it. After that point I tried again and saw the full AI review, but may have been because they had made the request.
Also, I find it a little inconsistent that the behavior of the standard / free 3 highlighted move review behaves differently than the full one. In the standard version the labels on the moves shows the board after the mistake was made instead of showing the board state and suggestions before the mistake was made, showing the inferior move with a triangle. Ideally these two modes would be the same, but with the standard mode only showing analysis for the three moves versus all moves seen in the full AI review.
It definitely says “your games”. I saw that, but then the mod told me to start a review and it should work for games I observed. Feel like maybe that works for him and not non-mods. To confuse things more after he tested the game I shared a link to it worked for me.
More I think about it, this all makes sense. Otherwise people would be tempted to share a subscription with others so they could have full analysis of their friend’s games that they did not even play in. The marketing materials say “your games”, but I wasn’t sure if that was literal or not. Appears that it is.
Can even do it here on OGS if you download the file to computer and then re-upload it. I was hoping for a more convenient way to see AI of a higher level game right after watching the game.
As another Aji level supporter, I appreciate the snippets of AI analysis made available. But I admit that I find them to be rather lacking in many respects compared to other tools out there.
Happily, since the AI access is not the reason I support OGS, it’s not a big deal. But yes, it would be very nice if the site’s analyses and related tools were more complete and robust.
I’m fairly certain you cannot do this. Did you specify that it was an AI review? There is also another feature called “review” which you can do on other people’s games as well as your own. Perhaps the mod thought you were talking about this?
I have to imagine there is some bug or oversight involved in not allowing you to do an AI review on games you’ve added to your sfg library via the “add to library” feature. I don’t see any reason for this to not be allowed given that we can analyse uploaded sgf files.
I just chose “review”. I thought they were one and the same. Now i see why they are probably not. A “review” is more like a shared session where players chat about the game and try / show variations.
This reminds me even “analysis” mode seems to have an odd name. I always get that confused with ai review. Analysis mode is more about trying out variation as you consider your next move. Not sure what a better name would be for that. More like “pondering” “considering”.
Maybe one for @anoek or @GreenAsJade for whether this was a consideration, or something under consideration for the future.
I think the idea is to be able to run full reviews on others games.
I guess one downside of the current implementation of the ‘add to library’ feature as mentioned is that you can’t run AI reviews on games added, while if you downloaded and reuploaded (duplicated) you could.
