I became curious after seeing someone whose rating had dropped to 60k. I wondered what the lowest rank on OGS actually is… so today, I’m going to find out.
First of all, OGS policy prohibits intentionally lowering your rating.
For that reason, I cannot verify it personally.
However, there is a way to verify it without doing that.
You can either check the source code directly or switch to a logged-out state.
The rating is lowest when not logged in because it is set to zero.
From what I’ve checked, the rating can drop as low as 139k.
I’m not sure if there actually are any users like this, though.
If you really don’t believe me, try going into the “Play without logging in” screen yourself.
The multiple 100s here corroborate this, would be strange statistically to not have some <100 if there was no minimum imposed. Also if there is lower it’s <0.01% of the population per the cumulative chart.
I guess 100 was chosen as the minimum so if someone has 100±99 rating, there are no problems in painting this light blue cloud on rank graph, it not goes below 0
