Is it possible to read the ranking of players when the game was played? In my opinion switching to the present rank is not a real improvements because the present rank is not representative of the quality of the game.

OGS used to show the past games with the users past rank, as well as their past usernames as well. Since the site upgrade it seems like this was changed. I certainly hope these old records are not discarded in any way. I enjoyed reading old kifus and see how both me and my opponent improved over time. Now it is just confusing
