Why was I disqualified?

I was suddenly disqualified from this tournament: https://online-go.com/tournament/14421 and this question to the TD and in the tournament chat have received no responses. I don’t think I did anything wrong, but I have no idea how to dispute this. I’m also sad that my games were terminated as they were interesting and I invested a lot of time into them. Any suggestions?

This is most likely why https://online-go.com/game/3827096 you seemed to have timed out one of the games. As such I can only assume you were automatic disqualified for this.

I’m not 100% on this though.

You are correct, timing out of a tournament game results in automatic disqualification.

I’m surprised because I check games daily and no other game times out. Is there a way to see the time history or dispute this?

I also am disqualified for no clear reason from

I did have some timeouts because email notifications were not working and some game timedout
I thought it was annoying to “loose” a game to a timeout that’s not really that but loosing the whole tournament ??

Yeah that’s how the system is designed, you will get disqualified instantly if you time out in game of that tournament. It is to prevent inactive accounts being dragged along into next rounds causing annoyance to others.

I know its not very nice to get dropped from simul. mcmahon or round robin tournament because one or two timeouts, but try to imagine swiss type tournament where all abandoned accounts are carried through the tournament, just to time out over and over again.

only drop from the next round if the last game played timedout ?

edit:
That is, if there was tournament game or even any other activity after the timeout game, then un-disqualify the player ? or ask a pop if they want to resign from the tournament or commit to play on time on going, and if they don’t reply only then they auto disqualify ?
