I dont know what the front page is, but what I mean at least is https://online-go.com or Play Go at online-go.com! | OGS or both.

I think if this idea was a go, it should have a mobile solution in mind also. I personally would be more likely to kibitz on mobile I would say.
When it’s in list form (I think that’s controllable with settings) it’s already scrollable so in theory you could dump it on the right somewhere, but it might never be seen.
When it’s thumbnails, like if it was say a top 3 shown theres already weirdly a lot of space, so it could work.
This makes a lot of sense, if there’s more people watching a higher chance of kibitzing or starting kibitzing.

I mean I probably won’t be kibitzing a blitz game either way.
If the moves are slow enough, it’s fine.
Believe it or not though, the board takes up so little space on (my) mobile that if you don’t care about the clocks you can fit both in view
Sidenote:
I think if you forget about zen mode (and submit move button in live games) or don’t know it exists, you might think it’s not worth playing on mobile due to a high chance of misclicks, at least on 19x19.
You might use an app like Sente or Surround.
The fairest comparison purely for playing and not kibitzing though would be mobile browser zen mode to Surrounds expanded board view, to maximise board space for both for playing.
