2022: HOLD MY TEA! đŸ”

I feel that “Western” in relation to the war is referring to the more modern context of 20th century geopolitics, not so much to the context of the origins of civilisations (in the latter, Russia would be more closely related to Western civilisation than to Eastern civilisation).

They say we have our own path. Sometimes we might wonder why we can’t have it like in Europe or something, and that’s the explanation. We’re so unique that it’s really no use to try to mimic foreign to us Western ideas. It’s not gonna work out anyway. We need to carve out our own path.

Honestly, this life causes nothing but repulsion and revulsion. I can’t ignore this anymore. And can’t do anything about it either. Sucks.

Ukraine is under attack. Ukrainians defend themselves. Some Ukrainian, while defending themselves, employ tactics that put other Ukrainians in danger. If a crime at all, this is a crime from some Ukrainians against other Ukrainians. Certainly not a crime that “Ukraine” as a whole has committed.

You can maybe call out the people (maybe military leaders) who took the questionable decisions. Calling out “Ukraine” as a whole doesn’t make much sense to me. I can’t see any sense in “condemning Ukraine” for fighting back when they are victim of an invasion.

When I hear “western” my thoughts go to Europe and America, the east being divided in “far” (China, Japan, India and all other countries in that region) and “middle” (Israel and arab countries).
Russia would be western in that partition, even though it spans two continents.
Africa and Oceania are out of it.
I don’t know if there’s some official source for that.

Wait, so it doesn’t count? Crimes don’t work like that.

As often stated, many things can be true at once.

Russia (as in the decision maker) invaded another country, which is wrong.
Ukraine (as in some Ukrainians) may have commited war crimes, which is also wrong.

Fighting back means you are justified in fighting back, not in committing atrocities.

Also,

not “Russia” as a whole invaded Ukraine, either.

I do not know what it is that you think “doesn’t count”.

Just wait when this cute puppy learns about ko rules.

I don’t understand why studios keep rebooting the same 5 stories, when reality gives

ok, that was objectively funny

American courts look more like a circus than quarters of justice.

Quite a lot of games today are broadcasted. Though the one I like isn’t on Fox - Nakamura Sumire vs Nyuu Eiko.

I thought this was funny because ironic. I’m not a fan of this channel but looks legit.

It is good marketing. You can assume that a person watching a video for NFT scams is, at least mildly, interested in NFTs. Ergo the best idea is to talk to them about the scams other people do, establish your credentials and then YOU sell them an advertisement for a similar product which has your “seal of approval”.

The funny thing is that they did go too far and betrayed the “secret” about the transaction fees being the real money-winners in the whole thing.
Oh, no, they are making money EXACTLY like a casino?
Oops

FEES ARE KING:

what is ironic is how everyone is telling us about “making investments”, but are so very keen to scrounge every penny of “hard money” they can get

And you don’t even need to feel particularly bad about it. Because you just told everyone it’s a scam.

Anyone finished career mode in Just Go? I have an inclination to try and do that but I know it’s gonna be a waste of time.

Coming back to this, I like how many things seem to have causes from a very long time ago. Back when I learned history in school, it seemed a lot of stuff didn’t really change from quite long ago. Maybe with correction for technology and different mechanics of the world, it felt kinda the same. Perhaps it’s just a projection and seeking patterns when there’re none but. But it does appear like this big historical unstoppable process. And some people turn around and blame people who live now for the result of this amalgamation of many many factors over many many years. Well, gotta blame somebody.

Also, do you feel tired lately? I wonder if it’s corona or just life.

I think it is called historic inertia. A very interesting concept.

I am always tired in August
the tourists are flooding the place and they think that since they came to a rural place all driving rules are off, and so they go around driving like maniacs.

I had to go back and forth to a nearby town last week and saw cars in the ditch on every route. You only see that in August. Logic would say that you drive in a more careful way when on unfamiliar roads and when you are having your free time and you are not in a hurry.

Speaking of logic, have you heard about that anti-triangle stuff?

Congratulations!

“Western” is not necessarily called that because it’s west of something that’s not “Western”, but it’s a term based on culture and history. It is definitely a fuzzy concept, but I’d say it mostly overlaps with all places where today mainly white people live (except for Russia & Belarus, I guess. And there’s also some countries you could argue about.).
Therefore, I’d say a country can easily be Western and East European.

Not only that, but a US state can easily be Western and East Coast.
