In the finals best-of-three for the 30th LG Cup between Shin Minjun 9p from Korea and Ichiriki Ryo 9p from Japan, Shin Minjun won by 2-1 after losing the first game. This is his second World Major Title, and his first was also LG Cup, which he won in 2020. On the other hand, Ichiriki lost his chance to win his second title after winning Ing Cup against Xie Ke in 2024.
After Ichiriki won the first game after a very tough game, the subsequent games were hyped up by a certain post by a Japanese pro which mentioned that this is the chance for Japan to win against Korea after Hikaru lost to Ko Yongha 20 years ago. Unfortunately, Ichiriki lost the second and third game in a row and eventually lost the match.
