a minor goal to reach what should it be ?

TBH for me I still don’t have the habit of counting territories when game is ongoing, and like losing with a closer score difference and losing with a huge score difference, feel different, and what people mean (I assume) is when you come close to the endgame, playing the endgame as well.

I’ll again refer to the screenshot at post 6 (mainly because I have no idea on how to send an image…) Here you can fight for the right lower corner, try to take the control of area between D11-D13 to F11-13, cut black’s left upper corner with placing a stone at A7 then attempt to kill it, Black can try to breach your lower center wall with H5 and F6, you may need to place a stone there sooner or later, etc. You may say you dont know where to play or which one to chase, and I also dont know to be honest, but you can play these areas (or… other similar “undetermined/open border“ areas in your other games), see how it goes and get better at playing by time.

Really? What the eff?

@PJTraill has given really good advice, but to call all the other good advice that other people have given you “platitudes” is nothing less than impertinent.

I made mistake. I forgot how weak is your go. I apologize. But saying that “sacrifice” and “tesuji” are platitudes lol. I hope you ll remember them later in your interest.

At the stage you are, a not so far aim is to not connect already connected stones. It brings you safety feeling but you can’t afford that, it’s like a pass you know. Offer your opponent to play two moves in a row. You made it numerous times in the last game I saw (see @jlt post up)

If you’re playing 9x9 a good goal would be making life. Ie a shape with two eyes that can’t be killed. If it’s a bigger board and you think you don’t have any chance to win. Try staking a claim on a territory and defend it. Even if you’re loosing the game these are skills that scale up.

Use the “Pass“-button instead of the “Resign“-button at the end of the game.

This could sometimes lead to games being counted as wins for you.

World domination - it’s a really minor part of the universe.

@dokbohm Well done in that game! You took your chances and ended up in a winning position. You can no longer say you have never properly won a game, at least as far as playing goes.

Such a shame that you then clicked Resign instead of Pass! There is no point resigning a finished game, as the computer will show who won anyway, and you would have been in for a nice surprise in this case.

Actually there were 2 neutral points left to fill in, but that would not have changed the score. You also usually have to go through a phase Accept dead stones where the computer gives you a chance to correct its conclusions, but you can just accept what it says.

@dokbohm how are you doing regarding the goal of clicking “Pass” instead of “Resign”?
Another game today that you had won on the board but where you couldn’t resist your habit of clicking “Resign” at the end.

Should dokbohm be reported for sandbagging?

Investigated, perhaps. I have wondered if they are genuine, but I currently still think they probably are. All the same, they have not reacted recently in chat and continue to display odd behaviour. If they are genuine, what they really need most is a little personal mentoring, but that seems hard as long as they remain pseudonymous.
