I’m inclined to agree with you, especially in the belief that it would be abused, which is why I never started the thread. However, I am curious about people’s opinions on the idea.

I like locking the game until the moderator arrives. If one of the players can’t wait, they should be allowed to leave with the game still locked. The moderator can see cheating behavior and should punish it by locking out the cheater for a specific number of days. The game should be marked as vacated and no score should be recorded. All this should be easy to program and should eliminate most cheating problems.
NEVER should a simplified scoring that counts only territory be done! It ignores prisoners and dead groups and can easily be incorrect.
