Funny mistake.
The full quote is “Ai taught me a Terran game played on squares with little stones, called go, an excellent difficult game. As he remarked, there are plenty of stones here to play go with.”
From “The Left Hand of Darkness” by Ursula Le Guin (1969), so well before AI became a household concept.
In this book Ai (not AI) refers to a person of Terran ancestry.
Often this quote only shows the first sentence and not the second one.
