Safety first! Best not to rush into broken glass where there are things still falling. Saving the wine is no good if you get injured.
This is indeed applicable to go as well. When defending against invasions inside your moyo you should avoid direct contact and take care not to get cut.

I there was an invasion into a moyo of mine, I would play to remove its eyes, if any. Otherwise, I would play to make eyes. Is this strategy correct? I have no idea. I have little experience with this situation. I would definitely avoid making contact. Contact builds walls, in general.
