When I pair with an SDK in a tournament

Wait, maybe I’m not wise, but doesn’t 5-1 save white’s group? Or is it referred to black?

It does. So does tenuki though.

Oh yeah, thanks, now I know why my question was dumb.

This makes me think of a new sort of tsumego, which I call the Coffee Tsumego.

The premise is that the opponent has left the board to get a coffee from the vending machine. What is the shortest path (ie. least moves) to victory?

This board would be a boring one since it’s clear that both the lower left and top right have to be saved for White to win, ie. seven moves. But much more interesting instances could be constructed.

I feel like it’s the opposite for me, unfortunately. Play great, focused moves in regular games, then self-atari in a tournament game without realizing.
