When I pair with an SDK in a tournament
Wait, maybe Iâm not wise, but doesnât 5-1 save whiteâs group? Or is it referred to black?
It does. So does tenuki though.
Oh yeah, thanks, now I know why my question was dumb.
75th timeâs the charm
This makes me think of a new sort of tsumego, which I call the Coffee Tsumego.
The premise is that the opponent has left the board to get a coffee from the vending machine. What is the shortest path (ie. least moves) to victory?
This board would be a boring one since itâs clear that both the lower left and top right have to be saved for White to win, ie. seven moves. But much more interesting instances could be constructed.

When tesuji doesnât fit toâŚsituation on the board!
I feel like itâs the opposite for me, unfortunately. Play great, focused moves in regular games, then self-atari in a tournament game without realizing.
