Maybe asking in this thread Go Zendo @RubyMineshaft and others made tools hosted on GitHub to play this game very similar to your diagrams.

Maybe I should remind of a few things to make it easier for newer players to join in without reading everything:

We’re using this page to set up the boards. After creating a position, you can simply right click the board and choose “copy image”. Then go back to the forum, place the cursor where you want the image, and press Ctrl+V to automatically upload it to Dicourse.

I feel the tool may be useful in general for the forum, if it could be modified to allow varying board sizes.
