Please reconsider use of LLMs

Is there any chance you’ll reconsider using LLMs, and make OGS by and for people instead?

What if OP had reframed it as “Is there any chance you’ll reconsider using LLMs, and spend less time with your family and more time writing code, or pay tens of thousands of dollars hiring talented programmers since my $5/month gives me a right to shame your priorities?”

OP’s language is very deceptive and heavily employs dishonest framing. OP’s language is goal-oriented and is similar to people in Dwyrin’s twitch chat who occasionally shame go creators that use ai youtube thumbnails. Go creators like: 조혜연 프로바둑9단 [Hyeyeon Cho 9p] and these type of thumbnails: https://i3.ytimg.com/vi/kEshbkj-CGU/maxresdefault.jpg It puts Dwyrin in a catch-22 where he has to agree with them since it’s the safe opinion. In Oct 2025, the gaming influencer Dr. K essentially categorized this type of behavior as bullying creators, or in OP’s case, bullying the people in charge of ogs, by harboring and sewing intimidation into the community.

tl;dr – I’m against dishonest framing and sanctimonious busybodies

Did you mean to reply to my post? I didn’t state an opinion for or against LLM use.

Your framing focusses on the value LLMs bring to a single developer and their product/users. OP focuses on the negative consequences of the current deployment of LLMs. Both are true.

What makes OP’s framing dishonest rather than simply framing?

For what it’s worth, I actually love the use of LLMs here. OGS has had such excellent updates over the past year or two, and I’m sure this is the main reason why. At the end of the day, an LLM is just a tool - everything ever created still originates from a human mind

Dwyrin never struck me as a person that would shy away from disagreeing with someone in the chat.
Maybe that’s a position he does agree with. After all he doesn’t use such thumbnails.

That’s true, and that makes me think shark is using that deceptive whatever for some vendetta against dwyrin now

I fail to see any catch-22 situation in this example.

I’m with you, quality + care > speed.

Using tech that’s mostly making things worse and increasingly less trustworthy to get a feature done faster is just endorsing the use of it and going to make it that much more normalized and easier for it to seep into things you actually care about and enjoy.

Anyway, yeah – are there other places to play online that aren’t voluntarily giving into the whims of rich people who want to make more stupid people to take money from easily?

That m-dash really made me pause

Though I do genuinely agree with your perspective. Don’t really have much to add.

Just my 2 cents, I guess.

It’s not an em dash.

You guys seem to belong to those 1-2% of software developers who can write better code than the current best models. Congrats!
