Good point considering opponents. I’d expect it to settle at a pretty stable 10k with a high volatility. I’m not so sure about the deviation, I’d assume it tells how much the rating system knows about a player and it knows a lot about the fictional bot, so I’d expect it to be low.

Its not possible, account rank is connected to your ranked games.If ranked games are annulled, opponents will not be happy.

You can rename your account and then create new with same name.

I believe rank deflation was caused by handicap games. And now that some players got deflated rank by playing bots exclusively, those players are keeping bot ranks low.

Well, that’s not right, players and bots are in an uninsulated system, perhaps this ranking system does not work correctly for handicap games, but in any case it should fulfill the main thing - to determine the current level of players with a sufficient margin of error. I have an idea that the players were just cheating with bots, so the level of bots was falling. But we must assume that bots are extremely stable at their level, so they can rather be used as a relative basis for determining other ranks of other participants.

Look at the history of kata_web. A few games are rated for the bot (and not rated for the human opponent). Most of the time, the human’s rank is around 25k, but is in reality much stronger, low dan or high kyu. The bot can never rank up because the human opponents have a deflated rank, and the humans can never rank up because they only play bots and never humans, so we are locked in that situation. The only way out would be to make games ranked for the bot only if the human opponent has played enough games against humans.

Bot-human games are not ranked, ever. But at most once a day, we let the bot play a human automatch under a pseudonym.

Then maybe give the human OGS pro for 1 week, or a medal of service lol.
