The dots or circles are all near each other.
The orange one is huge.
The others are coloured in shades of gray to blue.
They are grouped all together on the right of the big orange dot.
I like your way to read them as white stones inside a bowl, but they were not supposed to be. They are just drawn near each other.
For me, they look like a moon rising behind a big orange planet. It’s just matter of fantasy and interpretation.
The fact is that they are tiny and they are almost negligible against the big one, even when considered all together.
I don’t want to spend time doing these stats, so I had a quick look at players in the group Fédération Française de Go who generally have many games in their history. It seems that a bit more than 1/2 play mostly live games, a bit more than 1/4 play both types of games and a bit less than 1/4 play mostly corrrespondence.
I didn’t look at every player in the group so it’s just eyeball estimation, and also the group may not be representative of all active players on OGS.
