The Dining Hall - NSFH(ungry people)

I wonder how many days will pass until Vsotvep notices he didn’t actually provide a recipe.

I should try recording the recipe, I think:
I started with the mushrooms (usually it’s the minced meat, but the mushrooms were the only frozen ingredient), in olive oil, until they defrosted, cooked a bit and drank their juices. Then minced meat went in, until it lost its bloody color, with rock salt, some white pepper, paprika, mint, a lemon tree leaf and some clove (?). Then tomato went in (diced from a can) and a dash of petimezi to even out the tomato. A little water for everything to come together, and cooked until the sauce was set.

Btw, when I cook red sauces, I sometimes put a tiny pinch of cinnamon in the water I boil the pasta.

I’ve got to say, for me the most useful recipe in this thread is still Koba’s lentil soup.

It’s cheap, easy to source, and everyone loves it.

Tonight’s dinner was delicious. We made salmon en papillote, and I found this recipe where you’d put chili oil with lemon zest over it, and fried grapes (!) with balsemic vinegar, thyme and dill. It sounded weird, but it was absolutely delicious, will make salmon like this again!

No no doesn’t sound weird at all

The turkey :turkey: is in the brine #HYPE

Fun Fact: Turkeys :turkey: are native to the Americas, despite the mistaken origins implied by its name in English and other languages (i.e., it is not from :tr: :india: :fr: :netherlands: :it: :greece: :ethiopia:)

Now that you started it, you have to keep updating.

Share a recipe, unless it’s a family secret of course

No family secrets, we just follow Alton Brown’s advice

I knew it since I read Astérix (I don’t remember if it’s mentioned in Tintin, maybe). I remember that for Obélix, the turkey are the alternative for the wild pigs hunting

Some small breads I made this morning, may help you digest the turkey.

Added some almonds sliced in it but no sugar.
