Teaching the kids in your family is a lot easier than trying to get adults into Go, you just have to go about it the right way. I recommend the method here (just scroll down to ‘First games with children’) http://www.britgo.org/organisers/handbook/club4
When you eventually get them playing proper Go, use chinese rules, tell them ‘most stones on the board wins’ and then fill in all territory other than eyes, they will get it pretty quickly. My nephew loves Go!
