And also sometimes I feel that 5.5 Komi is too much for 9x9 boards, especially games involving beginners.

The debate runs hot about whether it is too much for white or too much for black.

There is a ton of previous discussion on this. These discussions usually end up with the original poster discovering it’s not as simple or obvious as they first thought. And with the concensus being that it’s as good as it can be the way that it is.
