I completely agree that having characters in a show that people like a lot would really help. In fact, I became interested in Go after seeing it played often in a Chinese drama I really like.

it’s the manga : hikaru no Go who make me discover this game ^^
This regularly piques my interest. I’ve seen several shows that showed a game I wasn’t familiar with. After the show I head over to the PC to investigate. I know I’m not alone
