During the Covid-19 pandamic I had to close my bar several times and two of my fulltime staff-members used to play chess after having done some chores to keep us a somewhat busy. Early january 2021 one of them mentioned ‘another interesting game’ he had heard about, which he would like to learn sometime. As it happened I had bought a go-set in 2005 but because none of my few friends showed any interest in the game at the time and making sense of the game on my own proved to be very hard I soon gave up on it. Being ‘the other interesting game’ the set got dusted off and a proper introduction finally happened. It was a mind-blowing experience. It still is.
Besides deeply appreciating the game I also became interested in the equipment which resulted in a very modest collection of boards, bowls and stones. And books.
