Time control: 5 minutes basic time, three periods of 30 seconds per move byo-yomi.
Really? Five minutes basic time? 
With this time control a game might last around 1.5 to 2 hours.
Since it is best of 3 it seems quite ok.
It would be very exhausting to play more than 6 hours.
The Byo-yomi stress would kill me 
That’s the only reason they refrained from inviting you. (And me!) Very thoughtful of them.
