Am I the only one who find the phrase “6 stones, 1/2 komi” very weird?

*Edit
Now I realised it was talking about handicap stones and not just komi.

It is probably the default output of the McMahon program. I am not making pairings, so I cannot tell.

Can confirm. I’ve spent a 3 week holiday there around 1993 and I was there for a day in 2023.
I’ve spent some 5 holidays in Slovenia and I highly recommend it. Beautiful nature and very nice people.

A few words about this traditional tournament:
https://go-zveza.si/slovenian-open-2025-34-memorial-vladimirja-omejca/

The venue is a nice hall of the Astoria hotel. Slovenian go association is traditionally offering free fruit, snacks and water for all participants. The tournament is always played in the first half of April (avoiding Easter if necessary). Bled is offering many ways of accommodation, good food and a lot of recreational opportunities.

It should be noted that once upon a time, Slovenian high dan players were dominating the lively go scene in the region. Nowadays, there are more and more younger players in Slovenia, who are actively playing in other European and world tournaments.

You forgot to mention that it’s now increasingly the strong young Croatian players that are taking the top spots at the Bled tournament, which is a testament to the good work that the Croatian go association has been doing in recent years. It’s amazing to see how an entire association and player base can transform in less than a decade by focusing on attracting and developing young players.

Also, I’ve you’re planning to help us this much in the future as well, we should really consider making you an honorary co-organizer.
