After taking a break for a few months, I return to playing to prepare for a tournament. At first I lost 6 games in a row on Foxy at 4d but then I found inspiration and pulled off a magnificent streak of great games.

Just today I played 8 games, 6 wins, 2 losses. And it’s finally here:

It seems the only difference is that the name in user lists uses reddish font.

Yay, I guess.

Although I wonder if now that Foxy uses three default time controls, if it essentially split the rank pool into three completely different pools with different ranks. I play in 20m+3x60s and 4ds there are a bit too sloppy.

The question is the same as always. Does this make me a real dan yet?

You already were if you’re dan on OGS and dan on Foxy.

At the same time, I played over 100 games and just was just promoted to 1kyu from 14. lol

Rank is just a number.
Shodan is just a word.

If you convert your rating to binary or hex or whatever other base, you’ll get different thresholds to be stressed about. :grin:

The OGS column may be a bit different now for ranks weaker than about 4k, but everything else should still be similar, I think.
That whole row of Foxy 4d shows dan ranks (even EGF), so you can justfully claim to be a real dan anywhere in the world.

Many ppl promote on Fox recently and the only game I’ve played there in a few months I won easily so I guess fox ranks are becoming weaker and weaker…

But still, cong!

The rank is definitely weaker than OGS. I’ve been playing mostly 1k recently and can win easily, even a couple of 1d, while I’ve pretty much stuck at 1-2k on OGS. The biggest benefit of fox is to find live games with players at the same rank easily.

Now at 2d, the real challenge begins.

Thanks. My goal is to get to 1D at OGS and KGS(currently provisional 2D with limited plays) by July.
