A very close handicap game (19k vs. 17k)

I really enjoyed this game, there was a lot of back and forth with no clear winner until the end. I’m a 19 kyu right now, and I played against a 17 kyu, so I began the game with a two stone handicap.

I think I played fairly well for the most part (or as well as a beginner can be expected to), but I made one or two (somewhat embarrassing) mistakes that resulted in my loss.

If someone would like to give the game a quick look over, in particular the early/mid game, I’d be grateful.

The game’s here: https://online-go.com/game/view/4437481

I also tried a review of my own, though I probably wound up overdoing it a bit. But if you’d like to see what I thought of the game, I’ll leave it here: https://online-go.com/review/122140

I might be able to review it later, but are you aware you won the game? The score estimator seems to think you’re leading by 10.5 points even after losing all the stones. I think you let the large capture get to your head and mess with your emotions so you resigned without checking if you’re still ok in terms of points.

Now that’s a shock! I didn’t realize how much actual territory I’d secured in the middle of the board. It must be that even though I knew the white group in the center was dead, at a glance it still looked like there was a lot of white influence in the middle so I thought I wouldn’t be getting much. I was worried about my score when the lower-left group was being reduced, so when I was captured I was certain I wouldn’t be able to make up the difference.

Well, that’s one lesson learned. Thanks.
