For some time now, we’ve had a “warning system” for delivering messages that relate to “reports user have raised”.
These messages can be either
- “a warning” (please don’t do that) or
- “an acknowledgement” (thanks for your report, we acted on it).
(I wish we had a better word for “warning” actually - these are really intended to be more like “please don’t do that” rather than “if you do that bad things will happen”)
The nature of these messages is that they pop up a dialog with a button to click OK saying you’ve seen it. It lets us keep track of whether users have seen these.
If you have one of these outstanding, the system won’t let you play a game - we really want user to see the requests for “please don’t do that again”.
It’s supposed to be the case that if you have one of these outstanding, then it pops up - kind of hard to miss.
For reasons unknown, occasionally a user has reported that they can’t play a game but a message isn’t popping up.
To help deal with this, we’ve added:
- A button a moderator can press to say “hey system, clear the message, just let this person play”.
- A place where you can see all “Report System messages” we’ve sent
This place is in the bottom right of your Profile. Only you can see yours, you can only see your own.
You can click on messages listed there to acknowledge them, if for some reason the popup is not popping automatically.
If some kind person would be willing to add this to the wiki Documentation in a suitable place that’d be awesome
