The notification icon that indicates when it’s my turn in a game is broken; it only displays ‘1’ and clicking on it brings me to the same ongoing correspondence game no matter which games I actually have pending moves in (including if I don’t have a pending move in that game). As far as I can tell, the problem started immediately after I made some pre-moves in that game. Is this a known issue, and how would I fix it?
Things I have tried:
- Using OGS on different devices
- Logging out on all devices then logging back in
Things I have not tried:
- Finishing the game in question (Not worth cancelling a game over a minor cosmetic issue!)
It’s not a major issue but it’s a little annoying, so any help would be appreciated!

As far as I know only @anoek can fix this when it happens.
We wish we could totally fix it, maybe I’ll have another search for “why on earth does this happen?!”

Thanks, good to know. I’m pretty sure it occurred after I made conditional moves, possibly when my friend moved while I was setting them up? Unfortunately I don’t remember for certain. Hope this helps while chasing the bug!

On further exploration, it seems like when I log out and back in, the problem temporarily disappears, however the site loses functionality.
- Correspondence moves get stuck in the ‘submitting’ state
- I cannot see my outgoing challenges
- Queuing for a game doesn’t appear to work, it just displays a “searching” timer without presenting a cancel button, and I am not searching for a game upon reloading the page
- Occasional javascript “element not found” errors
Reloading any page on the website once will solve all these issues, however the notification circle issue then returns.
The game has also finished by this point, and the issue persists
A “hopeful fix” for this just went in.
Let us know if it seems better or persists..
