AI Support of Uploaded SGF After Creating Review

I see something that is a little weird to me and I’m not sure if it’s a bug or desired.

If I upload an SGF, I can do “Full AI Review” and it’ll do that. So far so good.

If I take that SGF and start my own review, I get no AI support.

So at least it’s working in one location, but I’d like it in both if possible. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

And… now I DO see AI recommendations in the review. I’m not sure what the expected order of operations are here. Here’s exactly what I did:

  1. Uploaded SGF to Library.
  2. Opened SGF.
  3. Went to right sidebar and clicked “Review this Game”
  4. At the prompt, selected Yes
  5. In this new review, went to the beginning, and noted that the usual markers weren’t there.
  6. Clicked “Analyze” a few times from the right sidebar and it just flicks to the final position and then back.
  7. Went back to the SGF Library
  8. Opened SGF
  9. Clicked “Full AI Review” button
  10. Marks show up. Start looking through game.
  11. Close game.
  12. Open review under my profile
  13. Marks are now showing up.

I suppose the main thing is that it seems like the AI review is not initialized when a review is created, only when Full AI review is clicked?

I saw this post and that no one replied while looking for something else

I think that analyse button is for analyse mode, which is mostly for analysing say an ongoing game. It’s the same thing that opens/pops up when you use the game navigation arrow, lets you explore the move tree, add stones and marking etc. So it’s unrelated to the ai review.

I think this specifically is what’s kicking in the Ai review for the full game. Once a full review is run, the live/interactive Ai should be available.

Most of the time I would’ve had the full review run anyway, either because it runs when the game is finished or I run it before reviewing say.

I’m not sure if it’s necessary, to have a full review run to have interactive analysis.

Theres cases like relayed games on a demo board have that interactive reviews (no main game to run a full review on), or even live ongoing games that are big reviewed (eg in the Factorio speed championship) that have live analysis running when the game isn’t over to run a full review on say.

Maybe someone else knows more, or is there a few different special cases with slightly different behaviour?

Sgf library vs demo board vs reviews of ongoing/finished games.
