Automatic handicap reversed the handicap

So I challenged a friend to a game of go and set it to do an automatic handicap based on our ranks. It generated the correct handicap but applied it reversed. So my friend that is new and is at 25k is now giving me a 4 stone handicap.

Here is the game.

I am curious why it flipped. It is possible the problem is me and I mistyped on entering it but I thought I did it correctly.

You have to set the choice of color to “Automatic” instead of “Random” for handicap games to prevent this issue. (It calculates your handicap first and then randomly attributes the color otherwise.)

If it did it the other way around, this would never happen. The higher ranked player could just get negative komi in the case of getting black.
