I noticed that when you create a Live Rengo game, it is listed under the Daily Correspondence games and - there is a Rengo section with Live and Correspondence.
It makes sense order wise, but I can imagine that many people would miss a Live Rengo custom game because its burried a bit under all the Correspondence games coming first.
From time to time I try to make Live Rengo games and so far one or two games started, from many many game creations and much waiting time. It may also just be the case that no one is interested in Rengo.
Still, in case it is a very easy thing to change, I’d like to suggest to put the Live Rengo games maybe under the Short Game section.

Respectfully, I doubt that your proposal will help. Interest in rengo has declined over the past couple years, and it was always hard to get live rengo games. No one wants to wait on a live rengo challenge. The problem has always been to establish a game start time that everyone can agree on.
Better ways of doing this include using the Invite system, asking for a show of interest in the Rengo thread or in the Rengo group (does that still exist?), or creating a Live Rengo thread where shows of interest can be solicited. Alternatively, you could create a private list of people who are generally interested and then query their availability when you feel like playing a live rengo game.

Yes, I totally agree with you. Thus the “in case it is a very easy thing to change” part. I also think chances are not high, but it may be worth a try.
I once asked if anyone is interested in live rengo games here, but with low success aka. none, xaxa. I think the best chances are still by doing a custom game.
I think its a great mode to learn from each other by commiting to moves you’d usually not play, for example.

Conrad is correct.
I believe it would actually be a mistake to “lure” people into live rengo games by putting the advertisement for them further up.
The reason for this is that our experience tells us that people who join rengo casually (without prior arrangement) leave equally causally. This leads to awful rengo game outcomes for the remainder.
This experience tells us that enthusiasts of live rengo need to find a way to arrange beforehand - and establish at least some commitment - before creating the game.
There’s a rengo chat group - the population there is not at critical mass.
I’m not sure what other mechanisms we could help with.
It’s be nice if an organisation such as this one
http://www.worldpairgo.org
would get into using OGS. Maybe that would help with “critical mass”…
