I just got a badge for clicking on a new item “FAQ”, “granted for reading the community guidelines.”
That’s generous because I didn’t read them. I clicked on it because FAQ means Frequently Asked Questions and usually provides information about what the features of a site are and how they operate. After confirming this stuff was missing, I closed it.
Suggest it would be a good idea to include something like this as part of the account creation process and add a checkbox that says “[ ] I have read and understand these guidelines”
Having received a reward for not doing something, I’ll go back right now and actually read the guidelines.
P.S. I’m looking for that FAQ button. It is here on the Forums side, not on the Go Playing side, right? Users are not required to ever look at Forums so suggest something like that appear in the menu of the Go Playing side of the site.
