Big wall didn't work for me

There’s a big move here, P7, that I overlooked for most of the game (16k AI missed it too). Can someone explain to me how to see something big like this ?

I made some big blunders and got crushed. Feel free to add to my review

Unfortunatley the wall on the left can’t help with reading on the right

I think this one would’ve been ok

Or something like

Otherwise the game is good for black, the wall is good, and it should lead to points.

One idea is to try to take the spot that the opponent wants to play. Often there are times when there’s a spot on the board that both players want to play at

Are you asking why it is big? Or how to come up with it?

I’m asking for tips on how to see it. How to see the weakness.

The general problem here is shape. There are certain shapes you need to be aware because they can result in weaknesses that can be attacked. In the case of your game, you allowed your opponent to hane the head of 3 stones (Hane at the head of three stones at Sensei's Library).

P7 is an important move to play, but it is also important to know how to handle it. If you had played P7 first, white still would have invaded to reduce. But you would have had a better structure and been in a better position. However, P7 isn’t what decides the game.

Look for stones with only 3 liberties that would have only 2 if the opponent plays next. Particularly in the centre of the board where you could have a pushing battle and build a big wall.

One tactical tip: black 61 is not necessary. If played at A4 instead, the white corner group is dead.

Earlier, black 37 should be at B12.

@papab Feel bad for you, must have been a satisfying feeling to build such a big wall though  Hoped you had fun!

Not need to feel bad for me. Always learning. I was surprised the bot kept playing on the 2nd line, I had read commentary somewhere that led me to believe that I should keep walking since white was on the 2nd line.

Since then I’ve read a lot about hane at the head of 3 stones. That’s probably the easiest lesson for me to pick up from this loss. That & the weakness around O7
