Not very important, but my rank for blitz 19x19 hasn’t changed in a long time, which is strange as I only play blitz games (over 95% of my them are blitz). Are they being counted as live games instead?
Some settings say they are blitz but are not counted as such, yep.
But not all, if the time settigns are low enough, they count to blitz. Im not sure where the border is.
Iirc blitz is <10s byo yomi not <=10, so automatch setting called blitz with 10 isn’t counted. Silly.
That’s tragic, because all of my games are 5x10 second byo yomi, and pretty much anyone in the Go community can agree 10 seconds is a really fast time setting, because it takes time to count territory and then evaluate possible moves, which takes more time than in Chess. Even 15 seconds is considered fast by strong players as far as I know, but I would agree 12 seconds might not be worthy of being called “blitz”, which suggests lightning speed. Under 10 seconds makes sense for the “blitz” title, yet I want to keep it at a clean 10 seconds because it’s what most of the community is used to and 9 looks like a much more intimidating time setting psychologically..
Yes, I think the blitz threshold for rating calculations should at least be updated to <=10 to match the automatch category. KGS also calls 10s byo-yomi blitz.
EDIT: I’m wrong
