My messages in game chat are tinted blue and no one else can read them. how do i fix this?

… and then of course there are purple messages, which are also only visible to you: this is when OGS has disabled your chat from being shown to others.
That typically happens when a user has abused the chat channel in some way.
If it’s a mild way, the user will be cautioned first.
If the moderator judges that talking to the person will only incur more abuse, the chat is simply turned off.
If that has happened to you, and you’d like to politely request it to be turned back on, you can PM a moderator on the main site - moderators still can see these things - or here in the forum (which has separate controls, but similar treatment).

I forgot, what colour are messages that are posted by an observer?
Great question - also purple.
That is because the players can’t see them - that’s what it is telling the person who typed them.
I wonder if they go white when the game finishes 
Answer: no: comments made in-game by observers remain purple

Observers can post Malk or Personal notes. As with player chat, Malk is visible to only other observers until the game ends.
