Hi, I’m trying to improve some fundamentals, so I don’t feel so lost in the game as a whole (more strategy and less tactic). Is this book recommended for a DDK who is trying to improve, especially on the early stages of the game? As I started reading, it makes sense and the topic looks very important and broadly applicable, but are the fundamentals presented still up to date and should I invest my time in it or are there better alternatives? Thanks.

Have you read, understood and internalised Otake’s ‘Opening Theory Made Easy’ already? If not, do so first. And then you won’t be DDK.

Those books written in the late XXc are generally aiming the SDK public more as DDK., like the ones of “elementary go series” Attack and defense, Tesuji, etc…)
There is nothing wrong if you read them before and you may find them interesting and fun, but there is quite a big chance that you will read them again later.
